Satellite-Ground Integrated Quantum Security Project for a State-Owned Enterprise Hydropower Station in Southeast Asia

Satellite-Ground Integrated Quantum Security Project for a State-Owned Enterprise Hydropower Station in Southeast Asia

Background

The hydropower station is located in a remote mountainous area of Southeast Asia with no terrestrial network coverage, which made equipment status monitoring and data transmission impossible. Project data was also at risk of being stolen, affecting the safe operation and management of the station.

Solutions

Deployed one mobile quantum satellite ground station covering the plant area, the dam, the living quarters and other zones.

Equipped more than 1,000 monitoring devices with low-power quantum security chips.

Deployed an industrial internet edge quantum security gateway to enable local data processing and encrypted transmission.

Connected to the Guoxing Space Quantum Cloud Platform, allowing the headquarters in China to remotely monitor and manage the station.

Results

Solved the communication problem in areas without terrestrial network coverage, enabling real-time monitoring of equipment status and data transmission.

Achieved end-to-end quantum-secure encryption of control commands and monitoring data, safeguarding the safe operation of the station.

The system runs automatically without on-site staff, significantly reducing operation and maintenance costs.

Provided a replicable solution for the other overseas projects of this state-owned enterprise.
